A previous hair braiding appointment fell through and I had already washed and blow dried my hair, so I needed to find someone that didn’t require booking in advance. After a brief search, I stumbled upon Braids by Ranys online. They offer booking online, but based on a review that stated there was a miscommunication when booking online, I opted to call instead. I informed them that I had long, thick hair and wanted to make sure they were able to braid my hair before booking. I was told they needed to check and would call me back. I received a call back in less than 5 minutes confirming my appointment for knotless box braids, medium size, mid back, the very next day at 8am. The building was easy to find and the suite was inside and easy to locate. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with warm, friendly faces and they were playing gospel music which offered a comforting environment. My appointment was with Chance. Chance was a very gentle braider. She gave me a mirror and let me confirm I was okay with my middle part before proceeding. Due to my natural hair being so long, they said I couldn’t get mid back because they had to dip my hair and didn’t want to dip my natural hair. I said that was fine, but I didn’t want my braids to be too long. Chance took everything I said into consideration, and when she finished braiding my hair, she dipped it and then trimmed the excess weave to a desired length for me. I have sat in salons for 9-10 hours getting my hair braided, and Chance had me in and out in about 4.5 hours which I definitely appreciated. I have a braider that I travel to for braids, but I will definitely keep this salon in mind as a back up. They were very nice and reasonably priced....more

Ranys was absolutely amazing ! I inquired with her for a booking the very next morning ( not even 12 hours notice ) and she responded quickly , professionally and answered all my questions. At our 5:00 am appointment, she was on time , friendly and made me feel very comfortable. It was such a peaceful experience. She washed my hair and was very thorough with making sure my hair was really clean which is really important to me because I have severe dandruff. I love how my hair turned out. Booking with Braids by Ranys was super easy. I set the date and time over the phone and the braider confirmed my appointment the day before I was supposed to show up (which is rare with a lot of stylists). Had two women perform a miracle to my hair and got me out of the chair in record time. I requested the boho knotless bob. I visited Rachel for a retwist and she gave me more than I came for, I received the best shampoo and a crochet retwist. I am in the beginning stages of my locs, close to a year in. I usually do not provide reviews, but Ranys and Nicole did such a fantastic job on by boho box braids in the back with cornrows in the front, i had to leave a 5 star review!. The atmosphere was chill, and they were fast. Ranys said my hair would take about 3.5 hrs and they were done a little before that, and i have a lot of hair! This will be my go to place for braids. For background I am a bit of a difficult client. I can’t have any additional products besides gel or grease in my hair due to having scalp psoriasis and I also have very fine textured hair. They are not just incredibly accommodating here but skilled. I ask for medium every time and the women here nail it. They density match so you aren’t overwhelmed with a lot of hair in a small braid. They are incredibly easy to talk to when it comes to needing adjustments! My hair always comes out exactly like I want it! It’s also a relatively quick process (2-3 hours)....more

I found Rany hair braiding on Instagram and was impressed by the reviews. This braiding empire in Columbia is a hidden gem. My appointment was with Nikki and she did an awesome job. I got crochet braids and I was impressed immediately by the light handiness of when she was corn rolling my hair as usually I experience discomfort as I can be a little tender headed. Also how fast she was able to get it done. Got there at 7:25am and was out by 9:30am. Scheduled an appointment for 5 am and had to move it to 6p with no issues. She was friendly and kind and could work with any type of hair. I was out the door by 10:30, and that was more because I was talking to the other lady who was getting her hair braided by another braider. I like the fact that it is a real salon suite and not like an open-braiding shop that looks like a sweet shop. I also like that you have to make an appointment, and she focuses on you.
